Temecula Valley Unified School District is accepting nominations for the Gifted and Talented Education Program. Parents interested in the program should contact their child’s teacher.
Teachers or parents may nominate students for evaluation. The deadline for nomination letters to be returned to student’s teachers is Dec. 14
The criteria used for program identification includes:
- Parent evaluation
- Classroom performance level
- Creative and critical thinking skills
- Advanced scores on STAR testing
- Raven Progressive Matrices scores in the 95th percentile or greater. Testing with the Raven Progressive Matrices will take place during the winter and early spring.
Standardized Testing and Reporting will take place during the spring with results becoming available in late summer.
Performance level expectations for academic areas are set at a grade-and-a-half above student grade level. Program placement notification for the 2013-14 school year will be made by mail after STAR parent reports have been mailed home.
