10 Temecula Schools Get New Leaders

Temecula Valley Unified announces new school principals & others.

When the new school year starts rolling in August, some new faces will be leading several Temecula elementary, middle, and high schools.

Temecula Valley Unified School District officials announced that for the 2012-13 school year:

Jennifer Hunt, assistant principal of Nicolas Valley Elementary and Tony Tobin Elementary, has been promoted to principal of LaVorgna Elementary. Hunt will replace LaVorgna’s current Principal Chrissy Wright, who will become principal at Alamos Elementary in the fall.

Wright replaces current Alamos Principal Penny Kubly, who will become co-principal of Chaparral High School. Kubly replaces co-principal Dianne Vaez, who retired in June.

Ami Paradise, currently assistant principal of Abby Reinke and Jackson Elementary, has been promoted to principal of Jackson Elementary. Paradise will replace current Jackson principal Shery Stewart, who will become principal of Bella Vista Middle School.

Stewart will replace current Bella Vista principal Pam Blasich, who will move to Margarita Middle School as assistant principal. Current Margarita Middle School assistant principal Erika Kreske will move to Gardner Middle School in the same position.

Anna Tapley, administrator of Temecula Middle School Annex, has been promoted to assistant principal of Day Middle School. Karen Love, currently assistant principal of Day Middle School, will become an elementary assistant principal (site to be determined).

Ben Gaines, currently the activities director at Temecula Valley High School, will become assistant principal there.

The 2011-12 school year ended with one of the largest groups ever retiring from Temecula Valley Unified School District, according to district officials: 77 teachers, 7 classified staff and 2 administrators. Among them were Bud Kane, PE teacher and coach,Temecula Valley High School; Susan Bernal, first-grade teacher, Barnett Elementary; Art Armijo, art teacher, Chaparral High School; Elena Edwards, Speech /Language, Crowne Hill Elementary; Gay Pettengill, third-grade teacher,Red Hawk Elementary; and Jennifer Mueller, PE teacher, Temecula Valley High School.
