TVUSD to Accept Intra-District Transfer Requests Beginning Oct. 14

The Open Enrollment period allows parents who live within the Temecula Valley Unified School District's boundaries to submit a request for their child to attend a TVUSD school other than their designated home school, according to this news release.

Friday, October 11, 2013-- TEMECULA, CA -- The Temecula Valley Unified School District’s (TVUSD) Open Enrollment period, when new Intra-District Transfer requests can be submitted, will begin October 14 and conclude December 20. The Open Enrollment period allows parents who live within the District’s boundaries to submit a request for their child to attend a TVUSD school other than their designated home school. Space availability is the major determining factor for approval. Parents can see a list of schools currently at capacity at www.tvusd.k12.ca.us/enrollment_restrictions.

All transfers received within the Open Enrollment period (Oct. 10-Dec. 20) will receive equal consideration regardless of the date they are turned in. Only transfers received during this time period will be considered as “Open Enrollment” transfers. If the number of transfers exceeds the number of spaces available at the school of choice, a lottery will be held.

Children presently on an Intra-district transfer will automatically be renewed to the current transfer school for the 2014/2015 school year, unless the transfer is cancelled by the parent, or if space availability is an issue at the transfer site. In this case, notice of a space issue will be mailed prior to May 30, 2014.
