Evan St. James is a singer, songwriter and composer who played last Saturday at Scarcellas Grill.
His music is a combination of charged elements that include jazz, rock and blues. The mixture of these styles gives the soul a sense of familiarity -- he creatively weaves together musical pieces from Armstrong, Dylan, and the Beetles.
I got a sense that his connection to music was more then that of mere keys on a piano, strings on a guitar and sounds out of a sax, St. James lives this stuff; it is a part of his DNA.
