“Horses have always been her primary passion but her need for speed has led her to also earn Driver of the Year in the Kumho BMW Championship in the UK and the title of first female driver to win the British GT Championship. Liz will definitely be one of the athletes to keep an eye on throughout the {Galway Downs] competition,” a statement from event organizers read.

The upcoming competition features riders and horses battling in "three-day eventing." The sport is arguably the most demanding of all equestrian events. It features dressage, cross-country jumping, and stadium or show jumping.

Competitors must participate in all three riding events, hence the name “three-day eventing.”
