For the third time in four years, the girls cross country team from Great Oak High School was crowned the state champion in Division 1. The win came as the girls raced in the Nov. 30 competition at Woodward Park in Fresno.
The Wolfpack is now in Portland, Oregon to compete in the Nike Cross Nationals meet.
The team earned the state champions title in 2010 and 2012, and have previously competed at the prestigious Nike meet.

- Girls team runs a D1 record of 89:28 to score 76 points and win its third state title in the last four seasons!
- Boys team runs a solid 80:58 to finish 12th with a very young crew!
- Jr. Nick Doan and sophomore Robbie Gleeson run sub 16 to lead the boys!
- Destiny Collins runs 17:09 to break the county record and takes third at state!
- Haley Dorris runs an awesome 17:34 and takes seventh!
- Ashley Helbig runs 17:51 for 12th, completing the record for the best trio of girls in state history!

The Great Oak girls were only two seconds off the all-time course record time for the State Championship course at Woodward Park in Fresno.
