Local UFC Brawler to Fight Championship
Temecula's Dan Henderson will go against light heavyweight champion Jon Jones in Las Vegas.
Local mixed martial arts fighter Dan Henderson will go against light heavyweight champion Jon Jones on Sept. 1 in Las Vegas, according to Dana White, president of the UFC, via his Twitter account.
It will be the main event of what is expected to be UFC 151. The venue has yet to be announced, though previous competitons were at the MGM Grand or Mandalay Bay hotels.
Henderson was selected to the fight in a decision classic over Rua last November at UFC 139. Previously, he was a Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion, taking the title from Rafael Cavalcante in March, according to Team Quest, an MMA group.
