Mud Run Planned Next Weekend

The messy race is planned for Galway Downs east of Temecula on Saturday.

Runners dressed in ridiculous costumes and uniforms are set to splish, splash and crawl through two dozen mud-and-water obstacles at the Temecula Mud Run on Saturday.

This 5k race is scheduled for , a 260 acre equestrian events center just east of Wine Country.

While organizers are expecting a sell out, there are still a two hundred spots available. Entry fees cost $60 for adults and $20 for kids ages 5 – 17. The first race wave will begin at 9 a.m. followed by six other waves a half hour apart.

While the theme is "good, dirty fun," there is a competition for the hard-core runners. There will be prizes for the top finishers in 6 age groups as well as police/military/fire and civilian teams of five.

The most coveted prize will be the best costume, so organizers advice participants to be creative and ridiculous.

Anyone interested in volunteering for the event should email volunteer@temecula-mudrun.com. For more information or to sign up to run in the Temecula Mud Run, visit WWW.TEMECULA-MUDRUN.COM.

My band, Mrs Jones Revenge, has just signed on to donate our time and energy to this great cause by providing live classic rock music for this event.

WOW!! I had no idea we had a house like "ROnald McDOnald" called Jacob's House. I've volunteered at RM in Loma Linda--I'd love to spend time serving at Jacobs. Thanks for writing back. I also love the other charity PALS too! Looks like I'll be getting muddy soon! ha! ps--how about a "feel good" article on each of these charities?? Or at least the Jacob's House--something tells me not many know it's even here. have a great day!
