Runners dressed in ridiculous costumes and uniforms are set to splish, splash and crawl through two dozen mud-and-water obstacles at the Temecula Mud Run on Saturday.
This 5k race is scheduled for , a 260 acre equestrian events center just east of Wine Country.
While organizers are expecting a sell out, there are still a two hundred spots available. Entry fees cost $60 for adults and $20 for kids ages 5 – 17. The first race wave will begin at 9 a.m. followed by six other waves a half hour apart.
While the theme is "good, dirty fun," there is a competition for the hard-core runners. There will be prizes for the top finishers in 6 age groups as well as police/military/fire and civilian teams of five.
The most coveted prize will be the best costume, so organizers advice participants to be creative and ridiculous.
