New York Yankees Draft Great Oak High's Stewart
Wolfpack outfielder Cody Stewart is taken by the Yankees in the final round of the Major League Baseball amateur draft.
Great Oak High School’s Cody Stewart was selected by the New York Yankees in the 50th and final round of the 2011 Major League Baseball June Amateur Draft.
Stewart, a left-handed hitting center fielder, had an excellent senior season for the Wolfpack. The 6-foot-2, 170-pounder led the team with a .490 batting average and 47 hits, including 13 for extra bases. He also had 17 RBI and eight stolen bases.
