Chaparral Plays in Oceanside Despite Blackout

Power was restored in San Diego County early Friday morning and the game between Chaparral and Oceanside High Schools will be played as scheduled.

Despite a major power outage that affected much of San Diego County, Chaparral High's football game at Oceanside High Friday night will go on as scheduled.

According to the Oceanside High School website, power was restored to the area around 4 a.m. Friday morning and they were informed that the varsity football game could be played.

Thursday night, school was cancelled for many of the San Diego area campuses, including Oceanside High, because the time needed to restore power was still in question.
