Street Hockey League’s First Month Sees Big Growth

More than 100 children join the Temecula Valley Inline Hockey Association league within a month of the new season's start.

The league launched Jan. 14 for its fifth year, though the turnout is unprecedented, said Scott Fink, the league’s president.

The roster has 100 middle school students. “Kids and parents continue to return, and now they’re bringing their friends,” wrote Fink in an e-mail. “They’re having a blast. It’s a fast-paced, exciting sport.”

Unlike the leagues fall and spring seasons, which are geared to training players, the current season offers them a chance at a championship.
