Temecula Gymnasts Sweep Orlando Invitational

The gymnasts recently competed in the four traditional Olympic gymnastics events: vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise.

The following was submitted for publication by SCEGA Gymnastics:

On February 14, 2014, 42 athletes from Temecula’s SCEGA Gymnastics swept the national, and international, competition at the Presidential Classic Invitational gymnastics meet in Orlando, Florida by winning the 1st Place Team Awards for Optional Levels 6, 7, 8 and 9.

The gymnasts, who put in long hours training at the state of the art training facility in Temecula, descended upon the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney to compete in the four traditional Olympic gymnastics events:  vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise.

Many of the athletes won individual medals and four of the levels garnered top spot on the podium for highest team scores.

Kathy Strate, owner and head coach at SCEGA, conveys the sentiments of all of the coaches:

“These athletes have worked very hard to represent SCEGA Gymnastics, Temecula, and Southern California," she said.  "They competed against gymnasts from across the nation and from neighboring countries.  The girls competed well and dominated the competition.  It was exciting to see them do so well in a different part of our country.”
