Writing Camp Open to Temecula Valley Students

From July 23 through 26, high school students can attend a writing camp at Chaparral High School.

Young writers in the Temecula Valley Unified School District are invited to the San Marcos Writing Project High School Writers’ Camp July 23 through 26.

The camp will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Chaparral High School, 27215 Nicolas Road, Temecula. It is open to students who will be in the ninth through 12th grade in the upcoming school year.

Participants will work on everything from fiction to poetry to essays, and will also focus on spelling, punctuation and grammar. Professional writers and alumni will visit the students and share their experiences.

The project is an initiative of California State University San Marcos, which works to improve student writing through instruction.

The camp fee is $160, with discounts available for siblings.
