Temecula Yoga Collective: A New Community Hub

http://www.theTYC.com Temecula Yoga Collective offers daily yoga, prenatal, kids yoga, pilates, kundalini, kirtan, and meditation classes. It’s a hub for high quality yoga and community leadership.

A new yoga studio is opening this weekend in Temecula:

Temecula Yoga Collective

The opening of the yoga studio, which happens this Saturday February 2nd, 2013, is a group effort, comprised of five collective partners and incredible community support.  Within a span of one month, we signed a lease, knocked down walls, built new ones, and beautified the space. You can view our progress here.

We took our time to thoroughly discuss our values, what is important to us, and what it means to be involved in a collective endeavor.  Here is our mission statement:

"The mission of the Temecula Yoga Collective is to offer high quality yoga programs and products that inspire, support, and serve personal transformation and spiritual growth.

We operate under a guiding principle of multiple bottom lines where each component is important for a healthy business, and congruency between business and practice is maintained.

The first bottom line is that our service has integrity and contributes to the well being of our students.  Our teachers are dedicated, well trained individuals that embrace this purpose and see the highest potential in their students.

Secondly, this is a space where the quality of our lives is enhanced.  The atmosphere is warm and welcoming; it is a “hub” where people are excited to go for what is happening.  Students, teachers, and community come together to mutually support one another’s spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and physical growth based on compassion, trust, respect, shared learning, and a healthy sense of humor.  We want our community to feel safe and comfortable to expand their perspective, and for people to feel free, relaxed, and authentically themselves.

Our third bottom line is to maintain a healthy level of financial growth so that yoga is accessible, the value of our teachers is honored, and we function as a sustainable organization.

It is our intention to creatively collaborate with other yoga studios and local businesses throughout the Temecula Valley.  We strive to engage in a way that is healthy for the individual, the collective, and the environment."

If you want to see what we are up to, please stop on by this weekend and celebrate our first days of operation with us!  We have a great line up of teachers that are very interested in getting to know you.

I began yoga classes with one of the 5 members of this collective over 10 years ago, and she has made a significant difference in my life. At 77 years of age I can swing out of bed in the morning and walk without a creak or an ache. Everyone has their own practice within a class, their own limits. I have found it to be a safe place to learn, as I have had classes with all of the instructors who are a part of this collective and they are intuitive as to what I can achieve and help me reach those limits, then progress beyond when I need expand. It is an atmosphere where you try harder as you know you will not be asked to do more than your capabilities. The classes have students of all ages, backgrounds and capabilities, and we all work to do the best we can within our personal limits, we respect the effort of others, are joyful when they make a breaththrough in their practice or achieve something they never thought they could do. I would recommend taking the Intro class to all beginners as that group of classes gives you a solid base to progress to the next level. There are types of yoga classes to appeal to everyone, and I have never held back from taking an advance class or a challenging workshop, it is always "my practice" and I do the best I can. No matter what, I leave in a more comfortable place personally looking forward to the next day, the next opportunity. If you have ever considered doing yoga, I highly recommend starting here.
