Reduce Your Anxiety and Depression by Creating Art

It seems like Getting Uncorked and Getting Creative is just what the doctor the ordered!

The physical and mental act of creating actually stimulates the brain and releases those feel-good hormones called endorphins.

Both creating and viewing art increases relaxation, enjoyment and inner calm while reducing pain. When present in the body, endorphins act as a natural painkiller and are able to provide a sense of comfort, wellness and happiness.

In his recent book, Flourish, Martin Seligman -- often regarded as the father of positive psychology -- maintains that there are five critical elements of psychological well-being, "positive emotion," "engagement," "accomplishment," "positive relationships," and "meaning."

In basic terms, living well involves feeling good about life, having something to do that you care about, having achievements you can take pride in and feeling connected with something that takes you beyond yourself such as a creative class and making new friends.

The physical movement of getting out of the house and moving, raising your arm and painting, getting up and walking around looking at the other student’s work all adds up to a healthy activity.

Add in the mental and emotional stimulation of creating colors and adding them to a canvas with a brush and you are stimulating your brain even more.

Temecula Wine Country in itself stimulates the senses. Beautiful scenic views, tasty wines and gorgeous venues all contribute to a wonderful experience.

Added places and dates to Art+Vino Art Classes provideds opportunities to enjoy all these wonderful benefits even more!
