Who's The Bully in Our Temecula Schools?

The Temecula Valley bullying school district

We are all told as kids that our job is to go to school and get an education. We are also told that schools should be a safe haven for children, but in recent years that has changed and as a society we have and are doing everything possible to make that a reality again. School has always been a place where children became young adults, sometimes for the good and bad. School has always shaped a child’s mind along the way. We have put teachers on a pedestal and made them the ideal role models for our children. Like adults with jobs, they spend the majority of the week with our children. They are the ultimate role model.

In recent months and years, they have been a spotlight on bullying in our schools. We always hear when the students bully other students; we seldom hear when teachers bully students. We should not be surprised when we hear this and especially in the Temecula Valley. Yes everyone, in the Temecula school district.

I will admit that not all students are perfect children, some have issues handling the growing pains of the high school years, and we all have. At times students will work their way out of the rebel years, and some good or ideal image children go in the other direction.

I was surprised to hear that in the perfect school district that is the Temecula Valley School District this was happening. I was even more surprised when it happened at Great Oak. Students that are absent for a specific reason are asked in front of other students by the teacher “where were you”, and when the student says out sick, they correct them and let the others know where they were. So now the student is called a liar in front of the whole class.

When student gets their locker broken into and stuff is stolen they are sent to OCR (On Campus Retention) and made to do a “Bullying” packet, WHY!! How is getting your locker broken into considered Bullying? Making children feel less about themselves because of something outside their control  is a form of bullying.

Wait I know, you do not fit the Great Oak image..And what is that image? Seen and not heard? Or a student with a 3.8 GPA?  It doesn’t matter, because if you have had issues in the pass you are unable leave them in the past as long as you are in the Temecula Valley School System. The Temecula Unified School District has a one strike and you are out policy. I wonder if we look closely at the teachers, principals and board or directors we will find pot smokers and drug users at one time, I promise.

I was at one time proud of the area I have lived in for the past 25 years, but since the Orange County washouts migrated to Temecula this town has gone downhill.

So Mr. Hubbard, I challenge you and your board to work as hard to remove the bullies that are teachers as you do to remove the students.

We’ve removed the ability to reply as we work to make improvements. Learn more here
