Deadline Nears for Kids’ Safety Classes

Each course is a week long and teaches 5- to 8-year-olds various aspects of safety, according to Marti Treckman, a spokesperson for the event.

State Farm Insurance pledged to pay for members of the Boys and Girls Club to attend for free. They will be bused from the clubhouse in Old Town to the school every day during the program, according to Marti Treckman, a spokesperson for the event.

One of the highlights of last year’s event was a visit from State Farm’s “Neigh Bear,” Treckman said.
