Elks Name Citizen of Year

Tammy Marine, the head of Habitat for Humanity, was honored by the local group of volunteers.

Temecula Valley Elks honored Tammy Marine as their Citizen of the Year during a recent meeting.

Marine has been the driving force behind here in our community. With her involvement, they are in the process of refurbishing 17 more homes for Habitat. This is in addition to the seven homes built here in Temecula.

Partnering with the City of Perris and the Rotary, Habitat also built a house at the Riverside County Fairgrounds and moved it to a permanent location. It was turned over to a deserving single mother of four.

Their newest program, “A Brush of Kindness,” helps local seniors who cannot maintain the clean-up and repairs on their homes any longer.
