Islamic Center Moves Out of Temecula

A warehouse that used to house the Muslim congregation will be left behind for a new location in Murrieta.

The is moving from Temecula to Murrieta.

The new location is at 26820 Hobie Cir., according to Ruby Choudhry, a spokesperson for the Islamic center's board of directors.

The center was located in a warehouse on Rio Nedo in the industrial western section of Temecula.

Prayers will be held at the new location on Friday, and a celebration for Eid, an Islamic holiday, will be on Sunday, Choudhry wrote in an email.

The congregation is working on raising funds to build a mosque, which caused an uproar of both opposition and support at several city meetings.
