Local Charity to Raise Funds for Needy Children

A family fun night is planned to help make a difference in local kids' lives.

An evening of family fun is scheduled for Mulligans Family Fun Center  September 22 from 5–9pm.

The event is a fundraiser put on by the non-profit charity organization HEART, founded by longtime Temecula resident Martha Minkler.

Proceeds from the event go to help programs of HEART for children who stay in Southwest Riverside County.

H.E.A.R.T for Children’s mission is to provide funding for services and support for abused and neglected children and families in crisis. The group has been serving those in need in the Temecula-Murrieta Valley’s since 1984.

“This particular event will help fund after school sports and activities for kids who are in transition or foster care and cannot afford to do things like play soccer, football or attend after school camps,” board member Cori Carey explained.

Pre-sale tickets for the event are available now and run $5 for kids 12 and under, $10 for 13 and over

Tickets cost $15 at the door if available, and children under 2 are free.

Mulligans will be closed to the public, and guests will have exclusive unlimited use of the new water park, go-karts, miniature golf, laser tag, batting cages, kangaroo jump, tea cups, train, carousel, rock climbing and mini bowling.

In addition, the ticket includes all-you-can-eat-pizza, salad, cake and soft drinks, Carey said.

People who want to help and are unable to make it to the event can still be a part of the event.

“We understand people are busy and my not be able to attend the fundraiser. If someone wants to buy a ticket we will donate the ticket to a child in need,” Carey explained.
