Mentoring Program Invites Teens
The Police Activities League aims to help guide teenagers.
A nonprofit group invited local teens to join a mentoring program lead by law enforcers.
The Police Activities League, a service offered by nonprofit group Safe Alternatives for Everyone, brings teens and cops together for outings, such as bike rides and fishing trips.
It started two new programs, called the Boys Council and the Girls Circle, with money it got from the Verizon Foundation.

The fall session runs for eight consecutive weeks from October to November. Volunteers will meet with peers and facilitators one evening a week to discuss relevant teen topics and participate in games and activities.
