VFW Pays Off Rest of Car Makeover

The organization kicked in $3,000 for the rest of a Temecula soldier's car revamping.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars kicked in $3,000 to pay the balance on the makeover of a Temecula soldier’s car.

Marine Sgt. Eddie Flak is scheduled to get the check from Commander Donald Durnil at 4 p.m. today, according to Johanna Lack, a spokesperson for , which coordinated the event.

Flak was surprised when friends and local business owners unveiled an overhaul they did to his 1994 Mustang GT last month.

They donated thousands of dollars worth of time and supplies, but Flak and his wife, Kristin, still owed $3,000 on it, so the VFW volunteered to pay the balance.

The VFW’s Temecula office is at 28075 Diaz Rd. A steak dinner will be provided for a $10 donation.
