Actor Gary Sinise to Make Appearance Saturday at 'Colors of Courage' 5K

The community is invited to the 5K run/walk, a benefit event for the Gary Sinise Foundation that is slated for Saturday, Oct. 19 at Big Horse Feed Corn Maze in Temecula.

There is still time to register for Saturday’s “Colors of Courage” 5K Run/Walk, a star-studded benefit event for the Gary Sinise Foundation that is set to take place at Big Horse Feed Corn Maze in Temecula, organizers said.

Billed as fun for the whole family, the 5K run/walk will feature color stations throughout the course where all participants can enjoy being showered with “Colors of Courage” as they support military, first responders and their families, according to a news release.

Those who have prosthetic limbs or are in wheelchairs are also encouraged to participate.

Best known for his role as Mac Taylor on “CSI: NY,” Actor Gary Sinise, whose foundation serves and honors military heroes and first responders, their families and those in need, will make a special guest appearance and be a part of an award ceremony.

Live entertainment will be provided by “The American Hitmen,” a band that appeared on “America’s Got Talent” and was founded by two Marine brothers who fought in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The first wave of runners will take off at 8:30 a.m., with the course leading participants into the corn maze festival area, where there will be festivities such as pillow jumps, pony rides, pig races, corn cannons, color Dunks, hay rides, pumpkin picking, duck races, a bungee trampoline and more, organizers said.

Participants will also have a chance to get their photos taken with reality TV stars from shows such as “Amazing Race,” “Big Brother,” “Survivor” and others.

The grand finale will be the appearance and presentation by Sinise.

Registration and packet pickup will also be available between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18 in the Big Horse Feed parking lot at 33320 Temecula Parkway, Temecula.

Additionally, the day of the event, there will be onsite registration beginning at 7 a.m.
