Temecula Valley Century Ride Set for Saturday

The third annual Temecula Valley Century charity bike ride will roll into Old Town Temecula this weekend, according to this news release. A benefit concert on Friday will kick off the festivities.

TEMECULA, CALIFORNIA (October 9, 2013)  - Bike 365 and Temecula Velo will host the third annual Temecula Valley Century (TVC) on Saturday, October 12 from 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Temecula City Hall. The yearly charity bike ride benefits local non-profit organization, Bike 365, and includes five unique routes of 100, 68, 50, 25 and ten miles.

In years past the TVC was held in Murrieta, but with the support of the City of Temecula the event will make its new home in Old Town Temecula with a Health and Bike Expo and assortment of free entertainment including a free Bike 365 Benefit Concert on Friday, October 11 at 6:00 p.m. in Town Square Park.

Registration for the ride is available online at ridetvc.com and in person at registration pick up on Friday, October 11 from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 12 from 5:30 - 8:30 a.m. An assortment of food and beverages will be for sale with all proceeds to benefit local Temecula non-profit organization, Bike 365.

“We anticipate 500 cyclists to attend this weekend’s festivities,” said Mary Diaz, President of Bike 365. “The Temecula Valley Century has garnered a lot of support from the cycling community and it is our mission to use the event as a platform to educate the public about the importance of sharing the road with cyclists.” 

Quickly growing as one of Southern California’s most popular centuries, the ride highlights include challenging climbs, rolling hills and scenic areas within Wine Country and the Temecula Valley. Various cycling vendors and local businesses are scheduled to attend the Health and Bike Expo festivities, in addition to a free children’s Bike Rodeo and skills clinic hosted by Carlson and Associates.
