I trust the Deputy District Attorney prosecuting my sons murderer. I just hope all of this doesn'tRead More affect the outcome of our case in some way.

I find Paul Zellerbach truly cares about crime victims and their survivors! Don't know how true thisRead More article is, but from what I know, he is a good man. I am a survivor of violent crimes.

Once again, Mr. Zellerbach refuses to face reality and denies the truth. The truth, Mr. Zellerbach,Read More is that you are a failed leader - and the men and women of the DA's Office were the first to see that the emperor is wearing no clothes. Police officers and detectives have also now seen the light. And soon, the public will. As a prosecutor in the DA's office, I can assure the public that this nearly unanimous vote accurately reflects our deep concern for Mr. Zellerbach's failed leadership and its threat to public safety. Ask any other prosecutor or police officer and they will tell you the same thing. The DA's Association endorsed Mr. Hestrin, not because we are upset about work hours (how insulting...Mr. Zellerbach knows the hours prosecutors devote to their cases, especially when in trial) or because we feel entitled to promotions (although it would be nice to finally have a fair promotion policy - which we haven't had under either Pacheco or Zellerbach)....no, we endorsed Mr. Hestrin because he has impeccable integrity (whereas Mr. Zellerbach did nothing but lie during the debates, continues to lie in this article, and condones or even promotes unethical conduct by his top mgrs), he makes public safety his top priority (whereas Mr. Zellerbach makes politics and his own ego his top priority), and he is a proven leader (unlike Mr. Zellerbach who can't lead his way "out of a wet paper bag," to use Mr. Zellerbach's own quip). Our endorsement of Mr. Hestrin was also a vote of no confidence in Mr. Zellerbach, his failed leadership, his ignorance to the growing crime wave, his discrimination against women and minorities (this isn't 1975!), and his broken promises. Mr. Zellerbach - you may not want to face this reality, but we have, police officers have, and the public will.

And limited civil. This would really stink as it will inconvenience the public. Riverside CountyRead More Superior Court charges filing fees for filing fees (please enter sarcasm). Where is the money going? Pensions?

Bicyclist should have to carry liability insurance if they want to share the roads, otherwise stayRead More home.

Wonderful, now to get to gold would be great. All we need to do is take care of our wreckless, nonRead More traffic law abiding car drivers and we can get there. Along with closing all the gaps. With our police now saturating areas where running red lights, speeding are a huge problem, things can only get better, and lives will be saved in bike lanes, cars, walking, skateboarding, etc.

I thought of it more as a homicide myself. Didnt think he shot himself in the right place like heRead More did her :( RIP to both of them I suppose, but the Mrs. didnt appear to stand a chance. Don't understand why married people just dont get a divorce or seperate, or............just not kill each other for Godsake. I guess that would only be in a perfect world ...............

Appreciate sharing. Really it would be great comfort the effort of the Speaker. Also equally wishRead More that Speakers should consider keeping their presentation down to 10 minutes. Sometimes feel trapped, lost, and can't plain stand it. So on both ends Speaker and Listeners consideration for one another.

My heart is extremely heavy hearing of this senseless tragedy. I personally knew the woman that lostRead More her life, as we worked together in an HR department at a local Temecula company. She was always smiling and very soft spoken. This is such a tragic loss to our community, My thoughts and prayers are with her family, RIP Dana.

This is such a sad and tragic story and sadly it happens to often. If the story is true about theRead More couple having children, I couldn’t possible know the pain that they are feeling. I truly will pray for this couples children and I hope they know that there will be many other people doing the same. By the way I am fortunate to have wonderful neighbors and often we get together just to visit. It's not only wonderful because they are friends but also wonderful for security in our neighborhoods. Maybe it’s time that other people take just a moment out of their day to say “hi” to their neighbor. It’s really not that hard.

This is a Great marketing, merchandising, and public service. Cudos to the HD team or individual whoRead More thought of this along with the Patch for promoting it. Forget Angie's list, etc. and DO_IT_YOURSELF. What else do you have??

Ha LOL Ken. Good memory. Hey heard a story that this was a 3 way kind of relationship, or anotherRead More woman involved. She is now under police protection for some reason? Man did NOT do a good shot to actually kill himself. But not sure what he thought if would still end up with alive? A shot at a lifetime relationship with the 2nd woman? From a jail cell? Or actually he was going to blame it on a home burglary gone bad? Don't know if what I heard is true, but we will see. I sure dont like paying police protection on a woman who got into an affair with married man. She needs to pay for her own protection.

JJ, Ken, Joseph, I agree with you gentlemen. I definately am old enough to have enjoyed the showsRead More on TV, but I am stuck on Millie too. LOL But on a serious note its a tragedy that this is the 2nd case to happen like this in Temecula in about 6 months I think. Remember the other one? Anyway, a couple about the same age also. Maybe it is a lack of friends in general as we get older and neighbor interaction throughout the day. I am 53 near the age of these 2 couples that this has happened to and I cannot even begin to understand what would cause one or the other to do this. Joseph your post could easily bring tears because you hit our society spot on. When I was raising my daughters up in Whittier the entire block was like the farmers of long ago and it was wonderful and I miss it so much. Then as time went on and then here to Temecula others all work during the day, a few are disabled, 2 houses have children my grandsons age but they are never out to play with him. Even though still every Christmas we go around and deliver cookies on our culdesac. 2 others also do that. When I was young, and then my girls were young there was kids all over the place playing, and always at my house (dont know how I survived) and we were not worried so much about "the bad man" as parents were out all over on the street. We used to leave all our windows open even at night until about 2 yrs ago when the crime rate and several incidents have just happened too close for comfort. I hate to have windows closed! Not even a screen door to leave the front door open! Its a sad day when we are constantly looking over our shoulder just to get in the house from the car :( I miss the neighborhood bbq pot lucks and kids everywhere Joseph, I really do :/ And I still dont remember who Millie is!

Many years ago I was involved with the old Kiosk Fotomat Stores and these men are horrible. TheyRead More will use any opportunity where a girl cannot run immediately away to do their thing, get that excitement of having them see them, and then drive off. Usually whether at a Fotomat Kiosk, or even when I was a kid it was very easy to write down the license plate number and the guy was arrested within an hour or so. Everyone told the police that same ole story...."I didnt know why I did it, she was just there, and it was easy". Its an awful moment when this is done to a female, as close to rape as you can get. Its something that doesnt go away for a long time and in most aspects the woman has been assaulted because she is put in a position where she has to see "IT". Men, get over it, keep it locked up, zipped up, and get some counciling now before you end up in jail with the BIG BOYS.

Spot on S. Smith. I have lived her a number of years and its always been rough around here, muchRead More worse then in San Diego and Whittier, two other places I have lived in my lifetime. But the last 2 years have gotten even worse right there along with our crime statistics.
S Smith May 18, 2013 at 04:07 pm
Since Moving here last year, I have seen more accidents and fatal ones at that. People drive likeRead More loons in Temecula, they dog you on the back roads in Wine Country, and particularly on De Portola. What's the rush that you have to do 70 and fly around me ?? I am a safe driver, use my signals and common sense, I drive the speed limit or whatever the weather conditions permit. I'm glad the cops are doing these checks. As to running lights "yella drive Like Hella" seems to be very common around here!!
